Podemos usar este phrasal verb para dizer que as aulas acabaram, um show acabou, um encontro acabou, um filme acabou, etc. Neste uso, o verbo \u201clet out\u201d \u00e9 intransitivo, portanto n\u00e3o \u00e9 usado com nenhum objeto gramatical. O phrasal verb \u201c<\/span>let on<\/b><\/span>\u201d significa \u201ccontar um segredo\u201d. \u00c9 um phrasal verb informal em ingl\u00eas. Nesta s\u00e9rie de phrasal verbs, podemos observar que o sentido do phrasal verb pode variar bastante a depender de se o complemento verbal \u00e9 um ser humano ou n\u00e3o, como em \u201clet somebody off\u201d e \u201clet something off\u201d ou em \u201clet somebody down\u201d e \u201clet something down\u201d. Por exemplo, podemos usar \u201clet sb off\u201d no sentido de \u201cperdoar algu\u00e9m\u201d, mas tamb\u00e9m usamos \u201clet sth off\u201d no sentido de \u201cdetonar uma bomba\/fogos\u201d.
